WHAT IS HEALING THE LAND?

The conference is a space to share Indigenous and Western knowledge and expertise related to planning, restoring and protecting the land.  You will build relationships and discuss activities underway to restore ecosystems and enhance biodiversity within Treaty 8 territory and beyond.  Speakers include Indigenous leaders, Treaty 8 members, planners, policy makers, biologists and academics from BC, Canada and beyond.

WHEN IS THE 2024 HEALING THE LAND CONFERENCE?

October 7-10, 2024
(Core conference program October 8 and 9, with optional pre-conference courses October 7 and post-conference tours October 10)

WHERE WILL THE CONFERENCE TAKE PLACE?

The 2024 Healing the Land Conference will be an in-person live event, hosted by Saulteau First Nations at the Cultural and Recreation Centre near Moberly Lake, Chetwynd, B.C.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Leaders, policy makers, restoration practitioners, industry representatives, academics and anyone looking to increase the amount of restoration happening on degraded landscapes and natural habitats within Treaty 8 territory and beyond.

WHY ATTEND?

To learn, build relationships, and participate in growing the restoration economy, to support protection initiatives and efforts accelerating the pace of restoration, and to raise awareness of on-the-ground actions having a direct impact on Canadian restoration targets.
